Briana Grosvenor | Murphy Business Sales | Houston Branding Photographer
Some clients come back around and it's the best kind of surprise. Briana was one of my wedding clients years ago, so when she reached out about branding photography, we already had the foundation and went straight to dreaming. That is the best kind of start.
The Process: Why the Prep Work Matters as Much as the Shoot Itself
One of the first things I have every branding client do is fill out a detailed questionnaire. We are talking everything from what you are envisioning wearing and what tools of the trade define your day to day, all the way to who your ideal client is, how you want clients to feel when they interact with your brand, and what your goals are for the next six months. It goes deep, and intentionally so.
That questionnaire becomes the launching pad for everything. From there I put together a comprehensive prep guide that maps out the entire shoot day before we ever step foot in the studio. Nothing is left to chance. Every outfit is planned, every backdrop is chosen, every prop is accounted for. By the time shoot day arrives we are not figuring things out, we are just executing. That is a very different energy, and you can feel it in the images.
Briana had her wardrobe planned out. We knew exactly which backdrops we were working with and in what order. The props were purposeful and on brand. There was no second guessing, no wasted time. Just momentum.
Hair and Makeup: Worth Every Penny
The incredible Allison Hughes with AHSpecialties took care of Briana's hair and makeup, and as always, she delivered. Allison is my go-to for branding sessions and for good reason. She has a gift for enhancing what is already there and making sure my clients walk in feeling like the best version of themselves before the camera ever comes out.
I always recommend professional hair and makeup for branding shoots. These are images you are going to be using across your website, your social media, and your marketing materials for a year or more. You are already making a real investment in your brand. Adding hair and makeup to that investment just makes sense. It is the kind of thing you will not regret.
Briana in Her Own Words
In the questionnaire, I ask clients to tell me what they love most about what they do. It is one of my favorite questions because the answers always tell you so much about the person behind the brand. Here is what Briana said:
"I love that I get to meet and talk to new people every single day, it makes me so happy to connect and hear people's stories. I love that what we do is supporting the Houston economy, because as a native Houstonian, I want to see this city continue to thrive. I'm passionate when I talk to people who want to leave their corporate role so that they can step into business ownership or something that is more flexible for them, and I love helping someone who has spent their whole life building something they love. I want to help them sell it to someone who they can trust to carry on their legacy, so that they can retire and enjoy their life and hard work."
That is exactly the kind of heart that comes through in her images, and it is exactly the kind of thing that draws the right clients to you when your brand is built with intention.
What a Branding Session Really Does for Your Business
This is the thing I want people to understand. A branding shoot is not just about getting pretty pictures. The process itself, the questionnaire, the prep guide, the planning, it forces you to get clear on your why, who you want to serve, and how you want to show up. By the time you are in front of the camera, you are not just posing. You are communicating something real.
Briana walked away with a full library of strategic content she can use across every corner of her brand consistently. And beyond the images, she walked away with more clarity around her business than she had before we started. That is what this process is designed to do.
If you are a Greater Houston area entrepreneur ready to invest in imagery that works as hard as you do, I would love to connect. Let's build something that actually looks and feels like you.
