The Woodlands Country Club | Liz & Shannon’s wedding | Part II
If you missed Part 1 head there first, too much good stuff to miss!
After Liz & Shannon’s ceremony we snuck away to the golf course for portraits and it could not have been a more perfect afternoon. Golden light through the pines, the wooden bridge over the creek, a spontaneous golf cart ride that turned into some faves of the day.
Onto the reception - and this one had ALL my faves. White dance floor, the blue and white chinoiserie look that is having such a moment right now, and the most beautiful cakes from Kiss the Cook (seriously, the best in town). And I can never not mention The Woodlands Signature Salad, a personal favorite and a non-negotiable in my book. Food stations for dinner because that is chef’s kiss at the club. Toasts, cake cutting, first dance - the evening just flowed the way a great wedding night should. As always, Andrea and the team at The Woodlands Country Club were absolutely top tier. They knocked it out of the park as they always do.
The dance floor filled up fast and stayed lively and fun all night. The photo booth was a hit. And then there was the bouquet toss which deserves its own moment. In 17 years of shooting weddings, I’ve not seen this before. Instead of the traditional flower toss to the single ladies, Liz convinced just about every woman at the party to get out there because who wants flowers when you can catch a bouquet full of cash? Genius. This was such a fun and memorable touch.
Liz & Shannon ended the night with a private last dance just the two of them and then climbed into a vintage white car and drove off into the night.
A picturesque wedding day! Liz and Shannon, you two are the best.
