about Sarah
To truly connect and work well with your photographer, it helps to know a little about me! I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Sterling, for 16 wonderful years. Together, we’re blessed with four amazing kiddos - three beautiful girls and one adventurous “Lone Ranger” boy. Above all, I’m a child of God, deeply grateful for the life I get to live with Him and the special crew He’s entrusted to me.
I have a passion for gardening, especially planting potatoes, tomatoes, herbs, and flowers. I love taking long road trips with my family, especially to the mountains. Cooking is another joy of mine, I enjoy trying out new recipes and sharing meals with those I love.
In my free time, I love to journal, paint watercolors, go antiquing in Round Top every year, thrift shop, and listen to records on my new turntable. Visiting record shops has become a favorite new hobby, and I’ve been so excited to grow my collection. You’d likely catch me listening to everything from Bonnie Raitt and Mat Kearney to Carole King and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
My husband and I love hosting gatherings at our home, sitting around the fire with friends, and celebrating life together. I’m a little obsessed with throwing birthday parties for our kids, we haven’t missed a year yet, which means 25 parties and counting so far!
One of those must have birthday dishes at each party is puppy chow (that chocolaty Chex mix). I wish I could say I’ve mastered making puppy chow after 25+ times, but it still trips me up every time. What I truly love is cherishing my people and making memories with them. That’s why I’m so passionate about documenting life’s ordinary and once in a lifetime moments. They pass by in the blink of an eye, and I love being able to pause them with my camera to remember forever.
